You should take a listen to the B&W system in the iX. A proper listen.

It’s phenomenal.

Fair enough. I have not sat in one of those yet. Hard to say if I ever will.

My point still stands for most BMW models.

My B5 S4’s Bose stereo was substantially better than my G26’s H-K is, or my G01’s H-K was. And that car was built almost a quarter century ago. And it was Bose.

The reality is that nobody buys a BMW for its stereo, but they really should be better (excepting, I suppose, that iX).

I used to think the same thing. But I realized the i4 actually has a great rear sound stage too. You have to fade it all the way back, and only move it a few notches to the front till it sounds right. I have compared all the BMW sound systems, and the i4 HK system is one of the most accurate and non-fatiguing systems when you fade it towards the rear.
By doing this, you quickly realize when faded towards the middle setting, the front speakers are totally over dominating, drowning out the rear sub and also the 3D sound dimension. The i4 also has very clean, well-defined subs in the front doors, as their is no under-floor space.

As far as acceleration sounds. They should have the option of a realistic engine sound track. The Ioniq 5N has a decent impersonation, but still kind of fake. Is it that hard to imitate the sounds of BMW's iconic 6 cylinder, or V8 engines?? If you want to hear a sound, make it sound like a sporty car with a noisy engine, or just keep it quiet like only an EV is capable of. These Tron type futuristic sounds are probably not what will convert typical ICE fans.

As long as I can code it out like ASD, I have no problem with it.

A big gimmick once again to distract people from what is important in a car. The things what BMW talks about in this post was somewhat important for us when we were 5 years old.

Even better though is that I have the option to turn it off if I so desire. Nice to at least have the option.
Why not rather have an actual iconic car? These "iconic sounds" childish gimmick it's like having a sex doll instead of a real girlfriend.

The video of the guy frolicking through some flora or fondling some stone is a level of pretentiousness I haven't witnessed before lol. It almost felt like a satirical SNL skit.

The sounds of my G80 in its stock form were nothing to write home about and ASD didn’t help there either. The sounds in my X5 M60i were also very muted not all that exciting, especially for a V8.

But ok, whatever you say…

Why would it bother you so much if you’re not buying it? It’s not your taste but you felt compelled to write a thesis to me? I guess you’re still mad we liked vehicles more than the horse and carriage right? Who cares if it’s 5 years old? Is time that much important to you? lol

How come you are not bothered by it? You like fake sounds in your car that much?
I felt compelled because as I see you cannot wait to hear those gimmicks in your car, I might convince you to buy an iconic car which would sound properly instead of that new childish sound system, but I'm sure that you like artificial sounds more than the actual soothing sound of a horse and a carriage.

None of you came back with an argument like adults do who have an idea about what an argumentative conversation is, instead you started to get personal 🤡

What is to argue here? Why is it so hard to understand that some people like other things than what you yourself like? I still enjoy ICE cars and have an appreciation for the auditory sensation they provide, but I also like the sounds in my i4 as well. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I would prefer it, if they just built a simple sound wave app, like a mini synthesizer, so we could tweak the sounds ourselves.

I thought the sounds in my iX were a gimmick going into it, and maybe they are, but they're honestly kinda fun at times. I go back and forth between having them on and off. Maybe I'm a 5 year old, I don't care. Still enjoy being able to have silence when I want, and honestly rare is the day where I hear a good ICE engine on my daily commute so I don't really miss that either. At a track, sure, I want to hear the engines.
