ynguldyn wroteDon't forget the other group that comments without being fully informed. "No ICE is the end of ///M! Oh, there will be an ICE version as well?...I'm still mad!"Prediction: this thread will be split between the people who've experienced EVs and know how wild this thing could be and the luddites.
Edit: forgot about another type: the people who mourn the looks of the previous generations of BMW with every new model, only to come back 7 years later and mourn the look they were kicking the previous time.

Will all be in the handling. If they can improve on the handling of the G90 this could be special. Weigh as much as an F90, 800+hp...

ynguldyn wroteNobody is going to mourn the current model once it's thankfully gone. The worst part is that we have to deal with it for a longer life cycle than normal. If the G80 had the same F80 life cycle, it would already be done but we're stuck with it for a couple more years.Prediction: this thread will be split between the people who've experienced EVs and know how wild this thing could be and the luddites.

Since the new car is an EV, there's absolutely no excuse to put that horrific front end on it again due to "cooling" right?
I do like the shape though from what can be seen thus far.

LuckyL wroteSelf driving M is the future. CSL trim will get around the ring faster than the other versions, especially with no one in the car.Ew.
Itâs not an M. Itâs some EV Abomination. Why do they have to mix them up?
Yes, I know half of you are gonna start quoting me and want to tell me all the reasons why EV is the future and who am I to tell people what an M car should be.
No, I donât care, we can have different opinions. I really just donât think they should consider these M cars. Theyâre a new class of BMW.

People should take note that an EV vehicle with a very low center of gravity handles and turns on a dime VERY, VERY well despite the weight. I am all in on a EV M3/M4. The possible exhaust note or lack of one, is just a cop magnet anyhow in my opinion. This will be another commuter car for me.

As an EV owner (my daily) I do agree with you on your points. EVâs do have a place and they are awesome in certain use cases. As an owner of a 911 & M3 (manuals only) there will never be a time when I want to go for a drive, for the sheer pleasure of driving, and pick the keys to the EV. Lucid sapphire or fastest car in the world EV of the future included. Speed is great, but without the drama it gets boring fastâŚsee what I did there?
They are awesome apliances for sure. I will continue to use them for daily stuff, but passion, engagement, interaction, NOISE, smells and of course shifting with 3 pedals IS the essence of driving for me.

If everyone agreed on everything, would the world be the beautiful place it is? No. Disagreement is necessary . If everyone did not share their thoughts or speak up, things would be quite boring no? Not a personal fan of the electric M. Itâs ok. You are, thatâs ok too.
Beyond how I feel about that particular model, my point was more that I donât think that a EV should be an M, thatâs it. M Cars are driver centric, thereâs no way youâre ever gonna tell me that it feels the same to drive a six speed petrol engine compared to any electric vehicle.

And I hear what youâre saying. Thereâs absolutely a utility and a space for electric vehicles, and I hear your points on why BMW chooses to combine it with M.
I just want them to continue making modifiable, loud exhaust note, tire, screeching, fuel-rich smelling, six speed monsters. Iâm scared for the future because Iâm young enough that I fear for a world I live in one day where this really doesnât exist anymore.

My apologies if I took you the wrong way go drive a 25 model 3 performance the latest version then tell me when it might feel like to have 4 emotors one in each wheel, with wicked fast response and instantaneous torque like youâve never experienced before.
I do like the sound of my petrol engine, but I also love the sound of emotors screaming underneath the floorâŚ
They both have a different visceral effect

I am completely against EVs period no debate on the M badging or not. Usually m is for performance and the ultimate driving machine whoâs to say this EV wonât perform better than the Tesla which is the best selling EV in the market. All I have seen is other company sales tank.
The market will tell and with growing emission standards these high horsepower cars cannot survive. Was saddened by the route the challenger took but when sales numbers come out the enthusiast will have the last laugh.

The front end in the spy shots looks totally new and different than the promotional videos. That would be awesome if they did away with the chopped off nose of a front end. Looks like it might be this Neue Klasse front end?

LuckyL wroteI doubt you'd think it would be a sterile driving experience when you're throwing this thing hard into corners and then getting whip lash when you're exiting. I think this thing is going to leave some stains in some underwear.I mean, Iâm not speaking on a performance level. All electric cars typically have stunning Performence these days. I just feel that from my perspective, theyâre very sterile driving experience and my understanding of M is that theyâre entirely centered around that tactile and visceral experience when driving them. A lot of that for me gets removed when I am in the driver seat of an electric vehicle and thatâs more the origin of my comment.

I donât know if itâs due to the camo but doesnât look that big / bigger than the G80, which is positive. Looks a bit smaller than G80, maybe my eyes are tricking me. And it will hopefully have more leg/ head room. Dawn of the new M for what itâs worth!
