Looks heavy in the corners, but looking forward to what they can do with the drivetrain and styling once it’s revealed.

This has the potential to be a very good looking M3. Let’s hope they don’t disappoint.

Then this car is not for you, probably should just move on.

Be interested in hearing how many high performance EV's you've owned or driven.

I'm a BMW nerd, I love this kikd of content, I remember 2012/2013 when they were testing the F80 and 2018 (I guess) testing thr G80, now we are here again expecting the incoming next gen, I'll going to start technical degree in cyber security this year, I hope to have an income that allow me gen the next gen m3 (the ICE version), I'm very curious about the iDrive X and how they'll handle that in the M cara :)

The one saving grace in this context is at least the CoG is so low on these they tend to hide their weight much better than a hybrid for example.

EV’s are banned at many tracks including the one closest to me. I guess this may change in the future but until then not an option.

Car looks nice! Lack of sound brings a tear to my eye.

Maybe Michelin or Pirelli can design tires that make fake engine noise when they break traction.

It looks really good! Reminds me of their Art Car series.

Interesting. Maybe a fire safety issue (in the sense that they’re impossible to extinguish)?

I am failing to understand the need (besides emissions) for this car!

We already know electric has instant power, can go up to 1000 hp with good motors but Tesla and every other electric car manufacturer did this already.

So my question still is WHY?

Heart of joy = Inline twin turbo? Because that’s what I find joy in.

This is BMW being behind the times and hoping bmw enthusiasts are willing to pay out for an EV that’s behind the curve by placing an M badge on it.

Just like the ducktail on an M2 with an M3 engine

In this video, the fenders look as flat as the current gen standard 3 series body on a 330i. Way too “safe” looking

Sorry to hear that. You should give a manual transmission M car a go first. Smells, Sounds, Vibrations, gears= Soul.

I think this new EV M3 would make a great 7th or 8th form of transportation lol. Totally appreciate the tech and E power but most enthusiasts will get bored and trade this thing within a year unless they have other cars with soul that are engaging and fun to drive.

Excerpt below from another bmw blog article today. I guess this gives AI a whole new meaning, Articifial ICE 😢

“BMW M brand is developing new ways to provide sensory feedback in electric cars. Without engine revs or gear changes, drivers lose a sense of speed and connection. BMW is working on solutions, from acoustic feedback to haptic cues and real-time visual indicators, to help recreate the emotional link between car and driver.”
